Overview

Guzheng is an instrument which has a history of more than 2500 years. Mostly known as guzheng today, the “gu” was added in modern times and means “ancient”.

This Chinese instrument is a perfect mix between a harp and a zither. It is a multi-stringed instrument with movable bridges under each string, and played by wearing finger-picks.

Why learn Guzheng?

Guzheng is very suitable for beginners. After only a few lessons, you will be able to play simple pieces.

Guzheng techniques can produce sounds that resemble a cascading waterfall, thunderstorm, and so on. The instrument can create idyllic sounds, and that makes it simply beautiful to listen to and play.

Overall, if you are interested in Chinese instruments, Guzheng might be a good pick to start. Our China Cultural Center in Luxembourg has a nice offer to start your guzheng lessons.
